Summer Youth Camp at Annunciation Heights

Learn more and register below!

Summer Camp is central to what we do here at Annunciation Heights.  From forming closer friendships to enjoying the majestic Rocky Mountains, all that we do is centered on more deeply encountering the love of Christ in our lives.  As we go into our fifth year as a camp, we have our sights set on even greater goals: higher mountains, more campers, greater adventure, and more radical growth in faith!

Why Summer Camp?

Time and again, camp has been shown to challenge, encourage, and enliven the hearts of campers and staff alike.  Summer camp cabin mates become lifelong friends. Fears are conquered.  Incredible fun is shared by all.  And God is encountered in new and beautiful ways!   A better question is actually “Why NOT camp?!”  But don’t take our word for it…listen to our campers themselves!

"Can I stay all summer?....AND winter?!"

-8th Grade Camper

"I felt free to express myself. Home away from home."

-9th Grade Camper

"I dreaded camp and felt very nervous about it, but the guides here helped me a lot. I grew in my faith and felt like I found God again."

-10th Grade Camper

"The best camp ever!"

Summer Camp Programs

Here at Annunciation Heights, we find ourselves at an interesting and fortunate intersection, between outdoor adventure, faith, and youth.  Through our summer camps, we look to combine these three distinct elements for the growth of all of our campers.  We’ll challenge your camper(s) to grow, to learn, to make new friends, and to have loads of fun – all in a safe, faith-filled environment. In addition to in-camp programming, our proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park allows for adventuring and hiking in the Park itself!

From a mission perspective, we seek to respond to a certain cultural crisis in masculinity and femininity.  As such, we are running sessions according to biological sex.  In this way, we aim to speak more directly to the hearts of these campers, in unique, direct, and challenging ways.  By dividing the weeks by biological sex, we can intentionally form and model true Christian masculinity and femininity, respectively.  In so doing, we can help all who come to camp grow “to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Below you’ll notice two different youth camp options: Base and Rustic. Review the following descriptions and find the camp that best fits your child(ren).

"Base" Camp Sessions

As the name suggests, the majority of the week is spent on Annunciation Heights campus under the gaze of the Twin Sisters and Longs Peak. Meals are altogether in the Dining Hall, and sleeping arrangements are in our lodges across camp. Programming includes camp-based activities (high ropes, boating, and others listed further down this page), faith-oriented activities, a hike day, and other fun things.

Campers who come to this option will enjoy opportunities to spend time with just their age group AND camp as a whole (4th-12th grade).  Additionally, evening programming and talks are tailored to each of these groups, so that both content and delivery can be adjusted to fit each grade grouping.

"Rustic" Camp Sessions

This option is for the camper who wants a more rugged experience. Meals are enjoyed almost entirely outside, and the sleeping arrangements are sleeping bags and a ground pad under weather-resistant tent structures. Programming will include multiple opportunities to spend time adventuring and hiking in the National Park and learning a bit more about the outdoors. The faith-based activities are still present in this option but delivered outdoors and given on a slightly different cadence.

As opposed to Base Camp, this experience is a bit more intimate. Smaller groups, tighter age range, and more access to counselor-camper mentorship. It’s not for everyone, but your child will never forget this experience!

2024 Session Chart and Dates

This coming summer, we are offering the following sessions.  These sessions, as discussed above, will be offered for boys and girls separately.  Base Camp sessions will be open for any camper grades 4-12, while they are divided by the following age groups: Ramblers (4th-6th grades), Wayfarers (7th-9th grades), and Trailblazers (10th-12th grades). Rustic Camp sessions will be grade specific: Middle School Rustic sessions are open to campers who are 6th-8th graders, High School Rustic sessions are open to 9th-12th graders, and Hybrid Sessions are open to both!

Additionally, during the summer, we’ll be offering five Family Camps. Click here to learn more about Family Camp.

Summer Camp Daily Schedule

The framework of our daily schedule will vary by week and by camper group.  Nevertheless, there are some similarities to how each day will look.  We’ll be packing each day with new and fun adventures. Hikes in and around nearby Rocky Mountain National Park will be a big part of each week. Additionally, activities on our camp property will be sprinkled throughout the week, including trips down the zip line, climbing the rockwall, fishing in our lake, riding mountain bikes, etc.

Of course, our shared faith will be at the heart of all we do. Mass, adoration, confession, and small group prayer time will be an enormous part of the week. Click the drop down to see a typical day of Summer Camp at Annunciation Heights.
