This is no ordinary 5k. No, this is the ADVENTURE RACE. Once a year, the most daring racers between the ages of 2 and 107 gather in the most beautiful nook of the Rocky Mountains (*cough Annunciation Heights *cough). This daring panoply of people will undergo challenges to test every aspect of their adventuring prowess. From archery to a giant slip n’ slide the stakes will be high and the bragging rights, priceless.
And if you’re not the competitive type but still want to test your mettle, then join us for the non-competitive wave of the race!
Fest is a fancy way of saying party. Think live music by an amazing Bluegrass band, Chain Station. Think beer from award-winning brewery City Star Brewing. Think an entire roasted pig and delicious food from our new chef fresh from the heart of Louisiana. Think games, volleyball, Spikeball, and so many more. Think bonfire and s’mores!
Now, if you’re wondering whether the fear of missing out will really be that bad if you don’t come, let us assure you… it will be. Don’t miss out. We want you there.
ALL of the proceeds from this event support the Altum Institute Missionaries. What’s the Altum Institute you ask? It’s our missionary program named after the famous biblical passage from Luke when Jesus tells Peter to “put out into the deep”. In Latin it translates as “Duc in Altum”. Over the course of a year our missionaries follow a rigorous rule of life in order to bring Christ more radically into their lives. This in turn allows our Missionaries to serve Annunciation Heights in incredible ways.
What do our missionaries actually DO you might wonder? They are the heart and soul of our camp, the engine, the meat and potatoes… so to speak. They run our youth camps, they put on our programs for families, they teach kids and help write lesson plans for our JPII Outdoor Lab, and when they aren’t doing that they are praying or getting their hands dirty doing much of the work this camp needs to stay beautiful and upright all year long. Support the missionary program as we seek to form young adults while giving them a meaningful mission to serve!
Who are these Missionaries? Great question. Check them all out here!
