The 4th Annual Fiat Fest & Adventure Race is on Saturday, July 29th this year. And this year we are going bigger than ever before. We’ve also modified our pricing scheme to make the event more accessible to families!

Adventure Race

The Adventure Race is well… an adventure! Whether you have the itch to compete in our 5k or just want to try out all the obstacles and walk a 2.5K you can do it all here. Even if you’ve done it before, we’re adding a brand-new obstacle to conquer that won’t be revealed until the day of the race!

Perhaps most importantly, running this race is a unique and powerful way to feel God’s love for you. It’s hard not to when you’re surrounded by the beautiful mountain forest He created for you and the smiling friends that He created to love you. If that doesn’t do it, you’ll definitely be thinking about Him when you’re pushing the body He gave to you toward the finish line! All is gift, and your presence at this race will be a gift to us too.

Fest & Mass

Each of the last three years has been amazing. Ask anyone! But this year, we’re going bigger. In addition to the race itself, we’re extending the Fest into an all-day celebration! Volleyball and cornhole tournaments, fire truck tours, the bluegrass band Chain Station, food trucks, and more!

Additionally, we’ll be hosting a vigil Mass at our outdoor chapel which will fulfill your Sunday Mass obligation. Christ is at the center of our mission here, and we’re so excited to make Him the center of our celebration as well!

Dinner & Programming

After Mass, we invite you to join us for a sit down, buffet dinner in our pavilion with additional programming. We’ll take this opportunity to announce our race winners and share with you some personal testimonies about the impact and mission of the Altum Institute. We hope to inspire an occasion of your spiritual and financial support for the faith-filled individuals in our missionary program to continue their good work here in the Rocky Mountains. Afterward we’ll close the evening with music, dancing, and s’mores by the fire!

Mission

100% of the proceeds from this event support the Altum Institute Missionary program.

Why the Altum Institute? This program takes its name from Luke 5:4 where Jesus tells Peter to “put out into the deep” from the Latin Duc In Altum. Over the course of 15 months, these missionaries follow a rigorous rule of life to bring Christ more radically into their lives and the lives of other. This life translates into incredible ministry and service to those who come to Annunciation Heights in search of Jesus Christ.

What does an Altum Institute Missionary DO? They are the heart and soul, the life blood, the meat & potatoes, the engine… you get it… of Annunciation Heights. They run our youth camps, facilitate family-centric programming, serve our guest groups, and lead instruction and curriculum development for JPII Outdoor Labs. They also clean dishes, prep meals, chop wood, dig holes, clear trails, etc. etc. etc. And most importantly, they live a life of frequent, daily, and constant prayer, and their primary intention is YOU.

Who are these Missionaries? Great question: check them all out here!

 Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not good at running can I still race?

YES! We have a competitive wave and a non-competitive wave. You are more than welcome to join either. Often those with small children, the elderly, or simply more chill folk enjoy the non-completive wave which is a 2.5k distance and a little less intense.

How does the family bundle work?

Bring the whole family (no matter the size) for one flat rate. Be sure to sign up soon though as early bird pricing is limited!

Is this a fundraiser?

Yes! Everything from the price of your ticket to whatever you’re inspired to offer beyond that ensure that our missionaries are supported all year long.
